Endurance formula for wire ropes under fluctuating tension
Tension - tension fatigue tests with wire ropes are much rarer than bending tests. If the results of tension - tension fatigue tests have been published, their evaluation is very often hindered. As Chaplin and Potts (1991) pointed out one problem is that the tested wire rope or the test conditions are not specified enough. The other problem is that there is no convincing regression formula.
