 INTRODUCTION

The fatigue strength testing is an actual scientific and research problem and is made to a topic of interest of many scientific centers and industrial laboratories. It consists in exposing the samples to the action of alternating stresses, compatible with the stresses existing during their operation. The fatigue process is one of the main reason of deterioration of steel ropes used in winding installations, ropeway cranes etc. The fatigue lite of rope as well as the fatigue properties of wires, from which the ropes are manufactured, are crucial in the proper service of ropes and thus, they determine the safety of an installation where the rope is one of the operating elements.
