In the Institut of Fördertechnik, Universität Stuttgart 678 bending tests are made with 55 wire ropes 8 x 19 + FC, parallel constructed, ordinary lay. The numbers of bending cycles out of these tests are concentrated by a regression analyse to the mean number of bending cycles Nm and the number of bending cycles N10, at which with an assurance of 95 % no more than 10 % of the ropes have failed. With an other regression analyse the allowed maximum tensil stress is calculated for the different diameters
of pulleys.
