 Introduction

A dynamic development of the magnetic testing method of steel ropes and specially new ways·of testing, namely:

- automatic testing data handling /R.2, R-~/

- electronic analysis of an integrated signal /R.6/

- Hall-effect sensor used in the detecting heed /R-4, R-5/

call for the thorough knowledge of the shape and the amplitude of the sensor pulse of a defect arbitrarily positioned in relation to the rope axis. The aim .of the presented pap.er is to determine, theoretically, the

run of the pulse.
