Fatigue tests on hoisting wire ropes of diameters above 50 mm

The paper deals with the methodology of fatigue tests on hoisting ropes of diameters above 50 mm. The applied indices of progressive rope fatigue, the influence of force pulsation and wire rope rotation on fatigue life are discussed. Same results of fatigue trials on wire ropes of various designs as well as examples of the mathematical models for fatigue induced weakening of wire ropes are described.
