New proposal for the valuation of the endurance of ropes by the cumulative damage hypothesis

RoundTable – ENDURANCE RESEARCH OF WIRE ROPE AND ITS PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS – Glasgow 1985

The Authors present the proposal of a new process for the valuation of endurance of a pull rope for cableway in Miner's hypothesis on cumulative damage. The new process consists in the use of two different formulas for the valuation of the duration of fatigue on pulleys and rollers. The results obtained are compared with those obtained by the process based on an only formula, which gives a lower valuation of the duration.
