Non-destructive testing of steel wire ropes
Report of a symposium at the Institute of Metals in London, on 6th Dec, 1988, Organised by the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing in conjunction with the University of Reading, and under the chairmanship of Dr. C. R. Chaplin. Despite the existence of practical rope NDT systems for over 30 years, little use has in the past been made of these techniques in the UK. The primary purpose of this symposium was to raise the level of awareness among wire rope users, regulators and certifiers, of the available NDT techniques for steel wire ropes.
