Nondestructive testing device for steel-coor conveyor belts

The WBK-Seilprüfstelle, Bochum, which has now been incorporated in the Institut für Förderung und Transport of the recently formed DeutscheMontanTechnologie-Gesellschaft für Forschung und Prüfung mbH, has for decades occupied itself with the nondestructive testing of hoisting ropes. In various publications members of the staff of the Institute have reported on the progress made in the development of the so-called magnetic "stray flux method", which for a long time was the only method used. In
recent years rope testing devices have been improved considerably.
