State-of-the-art and future development in research and science in rope technology at the Institute of Mechanical Handling and Logistics at the University of Stuttgart

Ladies and Gentlemen,

For me as the director of the Institute of Mechanical Handling and Logistic and also as one of the management board members of the OIPEEC it is an absolute pleasure and honor to welcome you to the “Alte Reithalle” of King Wilhelm the 1st of Württemberg to this International Wire Rope Conference as a combined celebration between OIPEEC and IFT. We organized this joint conference in 2009 because 175 years ago Bergrat Albert worked the first time with a rope, produced out of iron wires and the famous application of wire rope began.
