1.General remarks concerning the life time forecast of wire ropes The reliability of the operations of': the rope transport installations depends greatly on the condition or the carrying and hauling ropes. In many rope transport installations the change of' used ropes is connected with a  standstill of' transport systems. This is why information about the actual state of ropes and about the character and the rate of' the rope condition make it possible to determine the actual factors or safety of the rope and to forecast the time rope change.
