Hanging wire ropes rotate and twist caused by its own weight and by tensile force. In 1957 Engel [1] and little later in the same year Hermes and Bruens [2] derived at first the rotary angle caused by the height-stress from rope weight; see also Gibson [3], Rebel [4] calculated with his own equation with nine constants the rotation of triangular strand ropes in deep shafts. Malinovsky and Tarnavskaya [5] derived their calculation method reminding the monograph of M.F. Glushko (1966). They reported from measurements of rope lay length showing the twist and from stresses of hoist ropes in deep mine shafts.
