Working group 4 - Wire rope in civil engineering applications

Activity of WG4 "Wire ropes in civil engineering applications" was devoted to the research program "Fatigue of staying cables", initiated in LCPC. That program is now considered as nearly finished; the main results were set out during the IFT International Rope day in Stuttgart in February 2002 and published in OIPEEC Bulletin 84. Some additional points are under consideration such as "the influence of wire coatings and lubrication on inter-wire contact fatigue".
