Working Group A Some remarks on the comparative tests between the reference machines (REFMA)
During the last OIPEEC meeting at Delft on June 25th and 26th we discussed the strategy with regard to the REFMA endurance machines The comparative tests performed at Turin and at Delft has indicated that at least on ropes with diameters of 18 mm and less the results of both the machines show a satisfactory measure of resemblance. The tests on the rope of 24 mm in diameter must be supplemented because of some differences, caused by small differences in the adjustments of the machines or by the high rope temperatures which were found. Tests with lower frequencies or smaller stroke angles must confirm these assumptions .
