Working parties / Reference machine

The Round Table held in Delft in I97I resulted in the establishment of a design committee formed by Messers Ciuffi, Hee, Oplatka and Wiek . This Committee adopted, as its terms of reference, the development and the design of a machine of endurance tests on steel wire ropes that will provide sufficient testing facilities to serve f or the comparison and the correlation of the results of the testing machines in use. Such a reference was found to be necessary for the development of a type of standarized endurance number of steel wire ropes .
