The extraordinary case of a breakup of full lock track rope described in my paper given at the Round Table Conference in October 1977, entitled "A case of early track rope failure on industrial ropeways" (page 5 para 1), located on the deviation saddle of an anchorage intermediate station, which took place by the end of 1972 when more than 50% of the wires did break was repeated with frightening regularity in the middle of 1975 and again early in 1978. No similar occurrance has been reported on this ropeway with numerous intermediate tension and anchorage stations over almost ten years of operation.
