Introduction - anchor design
Anchorages have many functions as there are many variations in:
- the ropes to be anchored;
- the force to be carried;
- environmental conditions; and,
- the expectations from the anchor.
Anchorages must obey a number of basic criteria, in spite of their varied functionality.
Some of these basic criteria are listed below.
