Experimental research on the strains distribution in the wires of a simple spiral strand under tensile load during the breaking of one of them

We are publishing, from the "ELEVATORI" review - Milan a paper by G. Molinari, an assistant to the Rome University, faculty of Mechanical Engineering.It is a report on researches by strain gauges on the wires of a strand 1 + 6, 15 mm diameter, in order to study the distribution's changing of the strains in the wires, caused by the breaking artificially produced in a wire. A wide bibliography is annexed.
