Summary

The possibilities of producing ropes and cords outside the box with new structures, has enabled new applications to be exposed dramatically. Innovative braiding technologies are there to explore. Most of these have been in the industry for quite some time, proven to be reliably working and providing new opportunities, mainly for other markets and applications. They now need to be transferred into the rope and cordage industry offering solutions for applications and problems out there. Not only for steel wire rope replacement, but also the possibilities developed and presented, offer possibilities and opportunities, which lie beyond the present rope designs, whether steel wire, synthetic, hybrid or composite.
