MULTISENSOR CONCEPT FOR WIRE ROPE ANALYSIS
Within the scope of a publicly funded research project, rope testing devices are developed with which a new sensor and data acquisition concept was realized. One focus of development is the high-frequency, real-time multi-channel data acquisition of coil signals and a large number of magnetic field sensors integrated in the sensor head. The second focus is the multidimensional online analysis of all sensor data already during an ongoing measurement, among other things by means of artificial intelligence. Here, the sensors are used for contact-less detection of the rope speed, wire breaks can be analysed more reliably, the loss of metallic cross-section, strands and wire lay lengths and the depth of the damage can be analysed quantitatively for the first time with so-called "Heatmaps". The analysis of the sensor data coupled with the history of the rope enables reliable predictions of the remaining rope service life.
