Some proposals about the new safety criteria - Stiffness tests

This report concerns the activities of two ad hoc Groups, No. 6 and No. 9. The link between the themes of the two groups lies in the fact that stiffness tests provide indications on the state of stress of a rope when it passes on rollers which apply transverse forces to it: hence, if one wants to study rope life from the standpoint of the new safety criteria, that is, on the basis of load spectra, it is necessary to establish (or more precisely, to estimate) the state of fatigue stress of the rope as it passes both on the pulleys and the rollers. And this is the case of the traction ropes for ropeways.
