The distribution of wire breaks on a wire rope

During the OIPEEC 11th General Assembly on August 25. 1983 in Vail, Colorado the following essay was presented. This essay is a short version of /1/. If for example a wire rope was stressed by multiple bendings on the whole length in the same manner, of course there would not be the same number of wire breaks in every section of the wire rope.
