ABSTRACT

The Institute of Lightweight Structures and Ropeways of the Federal Institute of Technology Zurich carries out full scale fatigue tests in order to examine the influence of several parameters on the fatigue behaviour of a locked coil steel wire rope flexed over a roller chain. This paper reviews and summarises the part of the investigations especially concerned with the parameter initial lubrication and service life relubrication. It is a sequel to the paper "Fatigue behaviour of locked coil ropes over roller chains" presented at the O.I.P.E.E.C. Technical Meeting of Oct. 1991 in Nantes (F).
