Over the years a large number of different rope termination techniques have been developed in response to many various design considerations such as: size and type of rope; service loading (static and fatigue); ease of installation; ease and reliability of inspection; re-use; etc. This paper presents an overview of a range of different end Connections currently available, and discusses their mode of operation and installation, as well as the criteria which will influence the selection for a particular application.
